Who is Darshana Vednere?
Darshana Vednere is an eclectic artist who excels in rangolis and paintings, among other dynamic mediums. Unexpectedly, Darshana is an engineer academically and by profession and has never taken any specialized art classes.
She was born and brought up in Pune, India, and later moved to the USA to finish her engineering studies while maintaining art as a hobby.
She was interested in the arts since her childhood. She picked up art as a hobby while attending school and by watching her family’s older members create artwork. She has participated in numerous art competitions,
Although Darshana occasionally participates in local art events in the USA, her primary area of interest is temple-related art. She volunteers to create artwork for the temples, which is an intriguing fact.
She is very distinct and unique because of her altruistic and giving personality.

Darshana prefers to paint with oil, acrylic, and watercolors. She primarily paints large-scale (3–7 feet) paintings of deities for special pujas and various religious ceremonies at hindu temples in NJ, USA.
Shiva, Laxmi, Ganesh, Ram, Narasimhan, and Venkateswara paintings on canvas are a few examples of temple artwork that are about 4 to 6 feet tall.

Besides large-scale cutout paintings of Hindu deities, She also makes rangolis (floor art) for temples, that look like painting on the floor.

Artwork Process
Some artwork takes several weeks to make. However, rangolis are usually created in a single day or overnight.
Creating artwork for temples comes naturally to her, yet there are challenges that she has to overcome.
Sometimes, it can be difficult to find exact rangoli texture and colours in the US, so she frequently needs to improvise by blending readily accessible colours and occasionally using coloured sand, which is undeniably alluring and hypnotic.
Being a mother of two and having a full-time job, it is not always easy to find time; however, she finds time to work on her artwork after office and during the weekends.
What is Art for Darshana?
Art is a versatile term, with everyone having their own version.
To know about an Artist, it’s essential to know what they think about Art.
We asked Darshana Vednere Four questions to get a deeper insight into her idea of “ Art”
Q1. What kind of Art do you produce?
I use acrylics on canvas, primarily focusing on religious deities. I have also made rangolis, greeting cards, and rakhis for sale at Artnbuff Marketplace – https://galleria.artnbuff.com/at/vanishka-designs
Q2: What inspires you to create?
A strong passion and desire to make something look innovative that matches the requestor’s needs.
Q3: How is Art important to society?
It acts as both a hobby and a way to expand one’s mind toward creativity. Art is a tremendous therapeutic medium to help relieve the daily stresses of work and life and allows one to express one’s thoughts and inner feelings creatively. Art does not mean painting or crafting but can be expressed in many different ways, whether through dance, poetry, or many other forms.
Q4: Does art help you in other areas of your life?
Art expands the mind to think in a non-linear manner and exercises parts of the brain that we usually do not use on a daily basis. Science has proven that art (in all its various forms) supports the development of the brain and makes for a stronger neural response system.
Art is that invisible thread that binds us across geography, culture, and time. And what better way to express it than through a platform dedicated to Art and Art buffs.
Artnbuff is a platform that brings art enthusiasts together and provides an opportunity for Artists and Art buffs to share their stories, knowledge, feelings, thoughts, and passions for Art.
